YMWIC Upward Bound Programs at Coatesville Area and Upper Darby School Districts
YMWIC has received TRIO Upward Bound Grants for its Coatesville and Upper Darby Chapters. The Upward Bound TRIO Program is a Federal Outreach and Student Services Program designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. With these grants, we are able to provide opportunities for our eligible high school Scholars within the Coatesville Area and Upper Darby School Districts who come from low-income families or from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education; and enroll in, and graduate from, institutions of post-secondary education. The YMWIC Upward Bound Program provides after-school, summer, and job apprenticeship opportunities which help our Scholars succeed in their pre-college performance and, ultimately, in their higher education and future employment pursuits.
