YMWIC Provides our Scholars with Tools for Self-Improvement
Quote of the Month
“I don’t compete with other people, I compete with what I am capable of.”
Message from Our CEO
Greetings, YMWIC Supporters:
As many of you are aware, April is National Volunteer Month. We recognize and value the many contributions of our volunteers. I strongly encourage others to join us and help make a difference in the lives of our Scholars and community.
Kudos to our Scholars who traveled to Chicago, Illinois, to compete at this year’s NSBE Conference (National Society of Black Engineers). They worked diligently preparing, competing against their team members and themselves to not only win in Chicago but also to uncover more of their talents and discover what they are capable of accomplishing. We are always proud of them, no matter the outcome of the competitions.
As reflected in the Quote of the Month, we at YMWIC meet our Scholars where they are academically and socially by providing tools, resources, guided training, and opportunities for self-improvement. As they strive for improvement and excellence, each Scholar will have their own unique path for achieving their goals. We encourage them to compete within themselves to expand their boundaries, explore new concepts, learn from mistakes, challenge their comfort zones, and strive for excellence.
We, and our Scholars, depend on your generosity. We appreciate your support whether as a volunteer, corporate, community or university partner, sponsor or donor. Help us inspire and shape the future of our next generation of STEM leaders. Remember, it only takes one person to change someone’s life. Maybe that person is you. To join us, please select our information link, volunteer link, or feel free to contact me directly.
