Message from Our CEO

On behalf of the YMWIC family, we’d like to express our gratitude to each of you for your loyalty, advocacy, and continued support. I’d like to recognize our staff, volunteers, and partners for all that you do.

We are thankful for another very successful year serving our Chester County youth with the support of the Chester County Department of Community Development and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program. Our new partnerships with the Philadelphia School District, the Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), and the City of Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Education have given us even more to be grateful for this yea

Congratulations to our Upward Bound Programs within the Upper Darby and Coatesville Area School Districts for completing an amazing summer enrichment program on the campus of West Chester University of Pennsylvania. The Program concluded the 2024-2025 Program Year with our summer banquet.

The YMWIC Scholars have wrapped up the first marking period, accomplishing their academic and Foundation goals. Scholars are now focusing on their Marking Period 2 academic and Foundation goals. Each Scholar plans to accomplish commitments in community service, science research experiences, and leadership, which places them in a position to earn a scholarship to attend a post-secondary education program of their choice following high school graduation. The 2025-2026 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) Program was launched in October and runs through June on Saturdays.

These programs and activities would not be possible if it weren’t for many of you. If you would like to join our village and make an impact on hundreds of Scholars located in the counties we serve, please contact me directly.
