YMWIC June 2023 Newsletter: The End of the Program Year is a Time for Reflecting, Thanking, Congratulating, and Looking Ahead
Quote of the Month
“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”
Message from Our CEO
Greetings, YMWIC Supporters:
At YMWIC, we care deeply about our Scholars’ well-being. Of course, it is paramount they excel academically; but we also want them to be healthy both physically and mentally. In May, in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we held special workshops for our Scholars and families and will continue to provide information and resources to support Mental Health Wellness.
In May, we hosted our 13th Annual Scholarship & Awards Banquet. This much-anticipated annual event is always the highlight of our Program Year, and this year was no exception!
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge Juneteenth, a symbolic date to celebrate the end of slavery in our country. Juneteenth is now recognized by all 50 states on its second anniversary as a federal holiday. As we move forward together, success takes care of itself.
As our Scholars are approaching the end of yet another successful school and YMWIC Program Year, we salute them for their hard work and dedication and look forward to serving them in the upcoming 2023-2024 Program Year. We congratulate our graduating Seniors!
We also thank our Sponsors, Donors, and contributors. The support of corporate partners and individuals remain critical to our continued growth and success. We seek partnerships that allow us to constantly improve our programming and expand our reach. We welcome you to join our team of contributors, so we can continue to make a positive impact in the communities we serve in STEM fields and other professional career areas.
With gratitude,
Richard Roberts, III
