Message from Our CEO

Greetings, YMWIC Supporters:

Summers at YMWIC are not time off, but time to continue to serve our communities by administering programming activities within our partnering school districts and University partner locations.

This summer we hosted a STEAM & Language Arts Program for rising 1st – 8th grade Scholars within our partner locations in the Philadelphia region, our 10th annual Middle School Science Retreat on the campus of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, our Coatesville and Upper Darby Summer Upward Bound Program on the campus of West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and our High School summer OST Program at Martin Luther King High School in Philadelphia.

Congratulations to our class of 2025 High School, Trade School and College Graduates. Best of luck to you in your career journey.

We are so proud of our future Medical Doctors. Raisa Sabiha, Norristown High School Alumna is finalizing her application process with 22 medical programs. Her top three Medical Schools are Temple University, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Drexel University. Congratulations to Chester Chapter’s Jaime Cantillo, who is enrolled in Medical School at Penn State University. See details below in the Alumni Spotlight.

In support of our Workplace Readiness Program, we appreciate the contributions from Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) and LaFrance Corporation for providing internships for our High School Scholars and Alumni.

The beginning of our 2025-2026 Program Year is right around the corner. Your support ensures that we continue to provide these year-round opportunities to our Scholars and Alumni. We are inviting you to join us as a volunteer, corporate, community or university partner, sponsor or donor by selecting our information linkvolunteer link, or financial donation link. You may also contact me directly.
