Message from Our CEO

Greetings, YMWIC Supporters:

The title of this Newsletter, “Preparing Our Scholars to Create Tomorrow’s Solutions,” will be the guiding statement of Young Men and Women In Charge Foundation, Inc., moving forward. As the Foundation’s management team and staff mature, we have become more adept at honing our focus on Scholars participating in the Program and entering the workplace to pursue STEM careers. 

Whether Scholars’ paths are our Pre-College Program or Pre-Apprenticeship Program, our goal is to prepare them to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, and become experts and leaders in their fields. Our aim is to set them on the path for success and provide them with essential tools and skills to begin their journey.

Our programming supports this initiative. This month, a group of Scholars visited a new YMWIC Partner, Johnson Matthey. Scholars were amazed at how they address some of the world’s biggest challenges in sustainable technology solutions.

As we wrap up Black History Month, our hope is that our Scholars, whatever their race, gender, or ethnicity, will be enthusiastic and confident about how they can make important contributions to our country and the world.
