Quote of the Month
“You must expect great things of yourself before you can do them.”
Message from Our CEO
Hello, YMWIC Supporters:
During this time, many are enjoying the warm summer months relaxing, reflecting, and reconnecting. However, at YMWIC it’s an ideal time for us to evaluate the previous year and to express our gratitude. As we look back on yet another successful program year, we’re proud of the achievements of our Scholars, especially those at the post-secondary level and alumni who are growing as leaders in professional careers.
Kudos to the growing number of alumni graduating in four years or less bucking the national trend of graduating from college in five or more years! We are extremely thankful for our committed partners’ and donors’ generosity and can’t imagine our organization without our valued volunteers and staff. Our success, growth, and advancement are dependent upon each.
We were so excited to once again celebrate in person this year for our Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet at the Sheraton Valley Forge Hotel. It was so special to have Scholars, families, friends and supporters all together to fellowship with one another.
With the generous support of our Sponsors and Donors, we were able to graduate 15 deserving senior Scholars this Program Year and support them with scholarships for college. Each Scholar met or exceeded established criteria to earn a scholarship.
As a final note, it is with great pleasure that I announce the newest chapter of YMWIC at Horace Furness High School in the School District of Philadelphia. This will be our first chapter in the City of Philadelphia. We encourage you to support our growth and connect with YMWIC as we broaden our reach and impact on families and communities. Please contact me to be a valued member of our team making a difference.
